City Of Columbus Bulk Collection Disclaimer

 
Because of regulations or restrictions governing the disposal of solid waste, some items cannot be collected with the residential waste stream.
These items include, but are not limited to:
Hazardous, Flammable, Explosive Materials or Household Hazardous Waste (oil, oil based paint, paint thinners, pesticides, cleansers) should be taken to the household hazardous waste drop-off facility. Click here for the location and operating times.
Yard Waste (leaves, grass clippings, tree branches, tree trunks) will be collected weekly from the curb or it can be taken to a compost facility. Click here for compost facility locations. For weekly curbside collection of yard waste, place leaves and grass clippings in disposable paper yard waste bags, or use your own container. Branches and limbs are to be bundled by string or twine. Bundles are not to be longer than four feet or wider than two feet. No single yard waste item can weigh more than fifty pounds.
Auto Parts (tires, car batteries, motor oil, parts): Tires can go to a tire recycling center. Motor Oil and Batteries are to be taken to a local vendor or the household hazardous waste drop-off facility. Click here for the location and operating times. Parts should be taken to a salvage yard or metal recycler.
Building and Excavating Materials (wood, drywall, concrete, bricks, doors, windows, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, etc.) should be taken to a construction and demolition facility, Click here for locations.
Refrigerated Appliances (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, water coolers, air conditioners) must be disposed through a licensed vendor. Click here for disposal information.
Furnaces, Pianos or Pool Tables must be disposed through a private hauler.
Cast Iron items can be recycled through a metal recycler.
 
ONLY the items you schedule online will be collected. Any additional items placed at the collection site will not be picked up.

Bags of trash are not considered bulk, and must be placed inside your 90 or 300-gallon container for collection.

Smaller bulky items must be placed in boxes. Plastic or metal trash cans placed out with a bulk collection will be discarded.

Glass must be removed from bulk items, placed in a box, taped and marked glass. Residents are responsible for cleaning up any glass residue that may remain on the ground in front of their home as a result of collection.
 

A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provide notifying you of the exact date the collection will occur.

 

By checking the "I Agree" box below, you are indicating that you understand that this service is for residential addresses only, that the information provided is accurate, that you understand what items are prohibited from collection by the City. Prohibited items found at the pickup site will not be collected by City staff. The City assumes no liability or responsibility directly or indirectly related to injury, death or damage caused by prohibited items not collected by City staff. Proper cleanup, storage and disposal of items not collected will remain your responsibility.
